It’s great to see passion in what we do. I was, as usual, impressed with the way only our friend, Recruiting Animal takes dictation on some of the more meaningful aspects of a great interview interview by JimStroud of “The Research Goddess – Amybeth Hale, – a self described “Hardcore Chick.”

Amybeth Hale: I am angry, Jim. I’m sick and tired of having researchers trivialized and misunderstood. It’s a common misconception that research is easy. A lot of people think it’s just going into job board databanks and just harvesting resumes. Research isn’t just that, Jim. It’s a lot more. A lot more. You have to really have a passion for it. It takes a while to really learn and it’s probably the most time consuming process of the whole recruiting life cycle to work.

Jim Stroud: Get it all out, Amy. You can speak to me, girl. Pretend I’m Oprah.

Amybeth Hale: It’s okay, Jim. I’m done. I just want to tell all the kids out there, the best advice I could give someone who wants to be a researcher is to find a good mentor. They can show you where they screwed up and help you to avoid similar errors. READ MORE of Recruiting Animal’s version of the interview.

I missed your Oct. 24th anniversary Amy but I am congratulating you just a week late. 🙂 I am glad SixDegrees had the opportunity to include you among those interviewed this past year.

I was hoping to finally meet my friend Amy in person at Kennedy Expo, ah but the fates have determined otherwise. I learned this week that I have had to change travel plans and I am heading to ERE Global Expo in Amsterdam. It was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down to learn and give back.

Amazing how e-friendships make you miss people, but luckily each post is a hello. Consider this mine, AmyBeth.
