You heard it here first, Six Degrees … has the scoop:
Apparently ERE Poker Cash Game Legend Randy Stevens, aka Director, IT Recruiting at Nationwide Insurance, – in what must be one of the corporate recruiting industry’s power of persuasion coups of the year, – has talked Dan Hilbert into a major consulting agreement with Nationwide. Big things are expected.
Dan Hilbert received the “2004” awards for major corporation recruiting efficiency, innovative use of technology, most productive business model. He was a finalist for two “Staffing Executive/Leader of the Year awards for 2004”. He served most recently as Employment Manager at Valero Energy Corporation, where he managed all corporate and retail field level employment and acquisitions and provided employment support for refineries, plants and terminals. He oversaw staffing technology, employment branding, metrics and analytics, sourcing, college intern program, Best practices, Orientation programs, and departmental reorganizations.
Word on the street has it that somehow, Nationwide was able to wrestle one of the superstars of our staffing industry, Dan Hilbert of Valero Energy, away from his comfy spot in Corporate America, and back into the Consulting World. It looks likes Dan will take his multi-award winning ways, and world-class recruiting best practice knowledge to this Midwest Finanicial services giant. If you read the list of endorsements on his Linkedin profile, you will get a taste of his offerings as he ventures to replicate and expand beneficial best practices on behalf of Nationwide Insurance:
“Dan led the implementation of HRsmart Applicant Tracking System at Valero. Working with our Product Management he was able to translate his experience in the field into enhanced features in our solution, benefiting Valero and HRsmart. The functionalities and enhancements Dan requested and recommended for the implementation of our solution earned him a seat on our Client Advisory Committee.†February 22, 2005
Dan will apparently focus initially on ATS problem remediation, and next-generation RFP creation, staffing process evaluation, workforce planning and prediction and trend analysis, linking staffing projections to business needs, and anything else that Randy and Nationwide can wring out of him. This group appears well down the path to becoming an industry leader in proactive recruiting initiatives, in fact, I believe that Nationwide is speaking on this topic at Kennedy next week.
Keep your eyes on these guys, we have had them on our radar for awhile now, and they are poised for accomplishing some great things. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a podium finish for some of their initiatives at the NEXT ERE Awards Banquet!
Hmm. Let’s make the coup complete by having Randy contact JobMachine Inc. about Workshops on Advanced Sourcing techniques and his coup will be complete.
