Truly excellent writing Dave. Russ is passionate about his craft and that tells it all. Smart, intelligent and ex-military… We can only hope more recruiters will join his ranks because and take up the slack because when a professional recruiter is on a roll and contributing to the growth of a company — nothing can hold them back.

This Bio on Russ is inspirational, insightful and truly motivating, if one want’s to “push the envelope” of sourcing and the art of recruiting, follow Russ.

It is often said that God, works in interesting ways, for example.

I met Russ some two years ago by happenstance when I found my self sitting beside him at an ERE awards dinner in 2008. I was not supposed to be there, that night but I was. Next to Russ was none other then Gerry Crispin. The interesting thing there, was I had no idea it was Gerry until after the dinner concluded. I had no idea I was sitting in the midst of two of the finest minds in our profession. Dinner began and it was simply the most engaging conversation I’d had in quite a while. My dear friend and colleague, Eric “Jake” Jaquith spent two years talking about Gerry. That evening was just the beginning of my trip to the ERE, and that trip changed my recruiting life in so very many ways.

I also heard Russ speak at a few conferences. I was amazed at his brilliant insights and thoughtful answers during the presentation. I thought again, WOW this dude is brilliant!

I hope I have the opportunity to learn more from you as our lives progress in this fascinating world of the Recruit-O-Sphere. BTW, the story about your wife is VERY heartwarming.
