QUESTION OF THE DAY – Have You Sent Me A Linkedin Invite Yet? (Three Things To Say Today)

To my loyal daily readers of “Six Degrees from Dave” I wanted to take this opportunity to accomplish three things.

1) Thank you, and a heart felt show of appreciation at that … for the 23,000 page views in the short time Six Degrees has contributed to the recruitment blogosphere. It’s been an inspiration to speak out on issues of the day, provide valuable knowledge transfer on advanced sourcing methodologies and evangelize on issues pertaining to the recruitment industry that I am passionate about.

2) My apologies. I apologize for the shortfall in postings as of late. I have had a miserable case of the flu for the last ten days and it has really sapped my energy as of late. I feel a tad better …but now that I managed to get the entire family sick back home … in addition to working on some exciting initiatives in partnership with Uber wunderkind, Shally Steckerl, at JobMachine Inc. ….. I have been a tad distracted. It’s the great balance of things.

3) I wanted to ask an obvious question that has until now escaped me to ask my audience ….. Have we connected on Linkedin? Are you part of my over 4,000+++ connections at Linkedin? Have you connected with Shally and his 8,000 connections?

Here is all you have to do … go to Linkedin and click “Expand Your Network” button on the top right of Linkedin and then add my name, Dave Mendoza, and insert my email address (ldavemendoza AT gmail.com) and walaah, we have now exponentially increased our network of fellow recruiters and staffing professionals exponentially.

What about Shally …have you added him to your network? Simple, same process. Go to “Expand Your Network” and a “Shally Steckerl” and his email (shally AT jobmachine.net) and now you are connected to us, our message, and our league of Cybersleuths. What a great value proposition!

I look forward to your invites within the USA and around the world. I want to see connection invites from fellow Staffing Executives, recruiters, sourcers in China, India, Brazil, Ireland ….everywhere …just send me a Linkedin invite and I will accept.

(4) Okay, I cheated, I decided to squeeze one more thing … if you are reading this somewhere around the world and you want Shally and I to train your recruiters in Japan, India, Vietnam, Australia, Estonia, Russia …..anywhere … we are happy to train your teams on advanced sourcing methodologies …and yes we can customize it for your country and your region.

Best wishes my friends … more great tidings to come.

So to recap … Thank you for being a great audience, Sorry for the decrease in posts due to a bad cold …and what are you waiting for …send Shally and myself Linkedin invites.

Look forward to welcoming new friends and old.

PS: Don’t forget to ask us about Onsite training, Webinars, and our new customized solutions to Build a World Class Talent Organization.

Dude, did you come home from the Kennedy Show with the illness like I did? I’m still getting over the cough from that nasty case of strep I caught in New York…

    Tiff and Dave-

I think it was all the time you spent in the blogging pit (now there’s a domain name – thebloggingpit.com). I’m fine – guess I’m used to the great air that straddles NYC.

And if I did get sick, I’d kick it’s butt…

On the invitation, we all REALLY need to make connections to people outside recruiting – remember what I wrote about brick and mortar? I’m doing a few searches now and EVERYONE I receive a resume from at the very least receives a LinkedInvitation.

Diversity works in many mysterious ways my friends.

Tiffany, I heard you were sick too buddy. It is the worse sickness I have had in years and I blame the makers of ZipFizz for being out of stock on my mega Vitamin C energy drink for 6 weeks and three people (who shall go unnamed) who shook my hand while being sick. My baby daughter at six months caught her first cold too …so it’s the gift (curse) that keeps on giving. I think people who have colds should have the consideration to not shake hands respectfully.

I will add this to my rules of networking.

In any case, hence the reason I have been mysteriously quiet on postings as of late ..that and Shally keeps me busy.

God Bless ya Tiff. Hope you get better. I’m still sick

PS: Steve, I want you to come to Denver to kick my cold’s ass. You are my designated body guard.

Now everyone else who is reading this ..have you sent me a linkedin invite yet? Tell a friend!

The immediate following weekend, I went to my husband’s cousin’s wedding. All my in-laws were in town, and I wouldn’t let any of them come near me so they didn’t catch whatever I had. I’m a firm believer in the no-handshakes-if-I’m-sick rule.
