To cast your votes, the format at Recruiting.com has changed, albeit for the better. You can now vote for up to FIVE of your favorite blogs. Yep, I said five. You click this link to vote and you hand-held to a site with a list of nominees for Recruitment Blogs of the Year, each with it’s own check box. Everytime you refresh the page the finalists are re-resorted in a new order, so it wouldn’t work to say I am number 1 or 20th down the list … it resets. In any case, you click “Six Degrees From Dave’s check box to the left of it, and then you can select 4 others.
Now do I endorse any sites in particular other than my own? Well, I have too many friends who would take issue and ask why they weren’t mentioned. But I will say that “Confessions of a Restaurant Recruiter” and JibberJobber” are great new additions to the blogosphere, not only because they are well done, but because Carl and Jason at the helm contribute far beyond their realms. But yes, I love Shally’s site, he’s my mentor and partner at JobMachine, Inc. and Glenn Gutmacher’s, and Wirelessjobs.com …. (Dennis Smith was a crucial reason I started my site) Recruiting Animal is the most brilliant source of wit in this space. Levy gives me “Old School is still school nonetheless,” Steven Rothberg gives me college flashbacks at CollegeRecruiter.com … so many sites, so much value … and that my friends is why I ask that you take this seriously and value the opportunity to recognize how dynamic the recruitment blogosphere is.
The Real Reason behind the Recruiting.com Best Blog Awards is to share and promote the tremendous effort that goes into maintaining and expanding the Recruiting Blogosphere. I never imagined years ago when I started as a recruiter that I would be known as a “writer” and/or “viral marketer” as part of my day-to-day. The essential premise to recruitment blogging is that Everyone does a lot of good for the industry by making the commitment to sharing ideas and conversations within our little corner of the blogosphere. I can sincerely state I have been blessed to have been involved and to have absorbed so much information, perspective, and above all made friendships that are unique in that they are so rich and diverse and even … global. I am one site among many well deserving and talented individuals who have sites that are my daily reads and part of my core, updated, education
Thanks a lot for taking the time to acknowledge the effort.
