I want to thank everyone who nominated “Six Degrees From Dave” for the Recruiting.com Best Blog Awards – thanks to your efforts this site has now a Finalist. The Nominations phase is over, …let the Votes That Count …BEGIN!

to Vote for “Six Degrees From Dave,” vote here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=944023026614

To cast your votes, the format at Recruiting.com has changed, albeit for the better. You can now vote for up to FIVE of your favorite blogs. Yep, I said five. You click this link to vote and you hand-held to a site with a list of nominees for Recruitment Blogs of the Year, each with it’s own check box. Everytime you refresh the page the finalists are re-resorted in a new order, so it wouldn’t work to say I am number 1 or 20th down the list … it resets. In any case, you click “Six Degrees From Dave’s check box to the left of it, and then you can select 4 others.

Now do I endorse any sites in particular other than my own? Well, I have too many friends who would take issue and ask why they weren’t mentioned. But I will say that “Confessions of a Restaurant Recruiter” and JibberJobber” are great new additions to the blogosphere, not only because they are well done, but because Carl and Jason at the helm contribute far beyond their realms. But yes, I love Shally’s site, he’s my mentor and partner at JobMachine, Inc. and Glenn Gutmacher’s, and Wirelessjobs.com …. (Dennis Smith was a crucial reason I started my site) Recruiting Animal is the most brilliant source of wit in this space. Levy gives me “Old School is still school nonetheless,” Steven Rothberg gives me college flashbacks at CollegeRecruiter.com … so many sites, so much value … and that my friends is why I ask that you take this seriously and value the opportunity to recognize how dynamic the recruitment blogosphere is.

The Real Reason behind the Recruiting.com Best Blog Awards is to share and promote the tremendous effort that goes into maintaining and expanding the Recruiting Blogosphere. I never imagined years ago when I started as a recruiter that I would be known as a “writer” and/or “viral marketer” as part of my day-to-day. The essential premise to recruitment blogging is that Everyone does a lot of good for the industry by making the commitment to sharing ideas and conversations within our little corner of the blogosphere. I can sincerely state I have been blessed to have been involved and to have absorbed so much information, perspective, and above all made friendships that are unique in that they are so rich and diverse and even … global. I am one site among many well deserving and talented individuals who have sites that are my daily reads and part of my core, updated, education

Thanks a lot for taking the time to acknowledge the effort.

That being said, to VOTE FOR “Six Degrees From Dave,” vote here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=944023026614

As they at Tammany Hall, vote early and vote often!

Dave, thanks for the mention of my blog. I feel very honored to be even thought about in the same circles as Shally, Glenn, Dennis, Steve, or yourself.

Jason as another new guy has really contributed to the conversation and has been a great confidante as we both have learned how to use our ‘voices.

I wish that everyone could win, because I know how much work is involved in making a blog entertaining and keeping it going. But most of all, I’m happy that the readers are actually the ones that win. They are the ones that get insight and inspiration in daily doses. [well at least from all those other great blogs, if not from mine] 😉

El Dave – what is this? Humility? You’re scaring me.

What’s funny is your mention of Tammany Hall (for those who don’t know this, TH was where NYC was run late 1800’s/ early 1900’s) – talk about corrupt voting!

As I’ve written the past few days – those interested in the integrity of the judges might want to read “Twas the Night Before Judging” on http://therecruitingedge.blogspot.com – the winners here are all the readers and contributors to the all the blogs.

    Please – read and vote.

Dave, thx for the props – I honestly didn’t think that any of you super-recruiters followed my blog (well, I knew Carl did because he’s usually the second person to comment on my posts). I’m honored to have the mention and endorsement.

Just for the record, I’ve been blogging WAY longer than Carl. At least a few weeks!

Three Votes, I mean, Three Cheers for Doza!

Dave, love what you’ve done with the blog, but it’s just a natural result of the positive contribution you’ve made to the recruiting community overall; and that’s what is most important.

Honored to be a part of your recruiting family and I look forward to seeing you hoist the trophy!

    Dennis

Funny, your four comments here amount to the 4 other votes I need on the survey monkey … thanks for making it easy for me as I locate my 4 check boxes Carl, Jason, Steve, and Dennis!
