Recruitment Blogging Commuity Goes Global: Jay Dee Offers Prize to “Best UK Recruitment Blog of 2007”
North American Staffing Community Meet United Kingdom Resourcers.
Yank-Spaniard introduces Cannuk to Brit. World moves closer to peace, love and Boston Red Sox won the world series last year. Coincidence?
Yes Recruitment Blogging community Building has truly gone global my friends.
With a page out of the social networking text book, I introduced Jason Davis of Recruitingblogs.com to my friend, UK’s REcruitment sweetheart, Louise Triance at UK Recruiter Blog. The result? Jason has generously offered a prize to the winner of the United Kingdom’s “Best UK Recruitment Blog of 2007” awards. As well as the (possibly past it’s sell by date) stollen Louise is offering, (Louise what is Stollen? I assume its tasty) the winner will now receive $500 (about £250) of Amazon vouchers.
UK Recruiter Blog Awards you only have until 25th January to place your vote. The winner (and runners up) will be announced at the end of the month.
Louise is really thrilled that Jason has offered to help support the UK awards. What’s especially cool about Jason offering up a prize is that it was the RecruitingBlogs.com’s awards that inspired Louise to set up this award (for more information on the Recruiting.com awards you can read a blog post Jason wrote and see who the winners were).
Louise sang Jason “Jay Dee” Davis a praise so warm it made Denver 25 degrees warmer in its after glow:
“He’s (Jay Dee) is a really great guy, although, if you’ve never ventured outside of the UK recruitment industry you may not know him. So here is a bit of background. Jason has been in the industry since 1993. In 1997 he started his own recruiting firm that specialised in the semiconductor industry. At that time, Jason, started investing heavily in recruiting related domain names and shortly after that became quite interested in blogs and how blogging could help recruiters make more placements. In 2002 he bought the domain name Recruiting.com and in 1996 sold it to Jobster. Jason recently launched RecruitingBlogs.com, works with ERE media and has recently just launched the Fordyce Letter website.”
RecruitingBlogs.com is a great site for recruiters looking to interact with each other in a more personal way than some of the other social networks out there. It is focused on those in the recruiting industry. There are currently over 900 people who have signed up and a good amount of those people use the site often. The site is about to hit the 1,000 member mark – perhaps that lucky number will be you? Are you hip enough? Are you best practices share worthy enough?

If you join maybe you will feel an urge to find out what Stollen is and tastes like or maybe you will bake some. It’s late and I’m hungry can you tell?
Take a gamble on making new friends and learning best practices by clicking HERE to register to perhaps be 1,001st person to be party of something so much bigger than yourself – a community, which our friends across the great blue “pond” of the Atlantic have come to embrace as well.
Jason, you never cease to amaze in the anty from your own pocket – it’s always about building relationships and you.
I know you would shrug it off Jay Dee like it’s simply no big deal. You would say “It’s not how I roll.” But you always put your chips down on a winning hand.
