The history of Keith Robinson tells a tale of our industry’s innovations, entrepreneurialism, and the community which binds each milestone from their tributaries. I have been blessed with good friends and mentors, and in Keith I have been graced in both and privy to each spell binding oration of his adventures in this business as a veteran sage within it.

He is a Brit, but to that end, his charm is not the arch-stereotype we Yanks assume. You see, Keith earns every warm effusive handshake, every reminiscent aspect of an evening of gluttonous creative energy derived in times shared, and he has more heart in that pat in the back than friends decades evolved. Be it his days befriending the rock band, ‘The Ramones,’ or being a historic participant in the evolution of classifieds, recruitment as a profession, or contributing legacy stature to the success of a multi-million dollar job board like TotalJobs.com – in all things our industry’s progression reflects his contributions. All things considered, I am just as likely to mark his friendship as a milestone in my own career. Suffice to say, I highly recommend a man of such stature in thought leadership and above all for his genuine capacity for friendship and implementation.

In the 80’s Keith Robinson managed recruitment operations at Computer Weekly and in 1989 founded and launched “Personnel Today.” From 1990-99 he worked as Media Director at two of the United Kingdom’s largest Recruitment Advertising agencies, Barkers Communication & Riley.

Keith then joined Totaljobs.com as past Website Director & COO, – helping it transition from being the fifth largest job board #5 position board in the UK into becoming a highly profitable market leader.

I spent an extensive amount of my time speaking with Keith, Alan Whitford and Jorrit Blok about the European Staffing Market and had the pleasure of extensive vision planning with these three giants of Thought leadership across the Atlantic.

About Kangarooster

Kangarooster is part of Classified Solutions Holding BV (CSH). The company was founded in 2005 by Keith Robinson and a group of Dutch entrepreneurs from the Emedia, creative and technology sectors. The vision was to recognize the change in the e-consumer, the move from search/irrelevancy to matching/relevancy. The Kagarooster team set out to build a new generation of web based, classified focused, matching technologies.

CSH launched Kangarooster in March 2007 as a beta site, “new generation” job board incorporating the leading matching, phasing and mapping technologies with a job taxonomy to give job seekers a new experience more reflective of their preferences as consumers. The team at CSH have also been selling the technology as a white label solution powering other job boards, career-sites etc.

Keith views Consumers as desiring “A match to a job not search for a job, – they want relevant jobs not CV spam in their in box and they want to be in control. The site goes fully live September.
